 Bandleader/frontman Jim was born in a tuxedo. Or, perhaps it just seems that way after singing for more than 3000 special events. These include 5 years on cruise ships, hundreds of charity balls (Heart Ball, Cancer Ball, Catholic Charities, Wolf Trap, etc) and thousands of weddings, anniversary parties and corporate events. Add to these a few trips to the White House to perform for both President Clinton and President Bush. More recently the Main Event headlined at the Environmental Inaugural Gala in honor of President Obama.
Jim’s early career included 5 years as bandleader for a group that performed on Holland America Cruise ships. Afterward, he became one of the principal lead singers for the Gene Donati organization from 1987 through 1996 and lead singer for Odyssey from 1996 through June 2004. Since then he has been leading his own group, The Main Event!
Performing at thousands of successful events and parties over the past 25 years has given this band the experience to know how to play the right song at the right time (..and at the right volume!). Music that is both sophisticated and exciting - played for parties that are elegant and fun. Expect a packed dance floor!
