Christopolis
Hip Hop

Cristopolis A. Dieguez was born in Arlington, VA to a mother of Guatemalan and a father of Chilean origins. This is a unique combination of the Americas in the sense that he was born and raised in North America while his mother is from Central America and his father from South America. He has traveled extensively through Latin America and finished his last 2 years of high school in Santiago, Chile before returning to the DC metropolitan area to complete his BA's in Philosophy and French from George Mason University. Completing high school in Santiago was an amazing experience for Cristopolis in the sense that it opened a whole new world to him and brought him in contact with his roots (he was expelled from high school in VA due to gang activity). Leaving to his fathers' homeland in order to finish school placed him in a unique setting in which he concentrated his musical restlessness into developing rhymes in Spanish by continuously writing and free styling. The Hip Hop movement has since developed in Chile far and beyond any other country in South America and has placed Chile along with Spain and Puerto Rico as the powerhouses of the Spanish language Hip Hop market.

Treating both his flow in English and Spanish with equal importance, in recording his first album "Metamorphosis", Cristopolis set out to make his debut in English by using refreshingly forceful ideas and insight combined with sheer flow, word play and musical creativity. After the independent release of his first album he left to France where he recorded over 20 songs with Paris based group Le Chant Du Crime, this work is for an album tentatively entitled "Nouveau Monde" (The New World) which they plan on completing after the release of Cristopolis' sophomore album. The second album is a project completely in Spanish entitled "Fuerza De Voluntad" (The Power of Will) which is scheduled to be released Winter 2003.

In the process of recording "Hip Hop International" a unique song conceived by Cristopolis in which there are 5 different emcees each flowing in a different language for a total of 6 languages in one song (Cristopolis flows in English and Spanish); Cristopolis met Japanese rapper and MCA recording artist MC Nique and apart from recording "Hip Hop International" for his sophomore effort they recorded a track entitled "29 Connection" for MC Nique's debut album.
A music industry fact, which Cristopolis and his team are very aware of is that the four largest Hip Hop markets are respectively the United States (English speaking market), France (Francophone Market), Japan and Spain (Spanish speaking market). With this in mind they have set out to make there mark in each market due to the realization that the ever changing world is everyday becoming much smaller and that an attitude of worldliness is truly necessary in order to triumph and make more than just music, it is necessary in order to make music history.
