Special K (right)

Tribe 1 was formed in 1999 to celebrate the millennium. The Tribe met at the California Institute for the Arts where they all studied African, Indian and Indonesian music. It was such a success that The Tribe has moved onward and upward from there. They have been doing special events around the USA as well as a May 2001 trip to Cabo St. Lucas in Mexico, and are a hit whenever they perform. The combined talents of Special K, The Gurminator and B-boy make this a very special ensemble. Special K spins while The Gurminator plays the most burning guitar licks and B-boy lays down his drum and percussion grooves.

This collaboration has not often been done. It is the best of both worlds...that of the mechanical music of a DJ with the live music, beat and rhythm of live instrumentalists performing in tandem. If you've never experienced Tribe 1, you must.
