of Latin Rock: The People and Events that Created This Sound, by Jim
McCarthy great credit has been given to Jorge Santana. This book was
published at the end of 2004 and on 1/2/05 Jorge sent a copy to Mark
Sonder with the inscription, "To Mark, Peace & Gratitude,
your friend Jorge Santana." McCarthy writes about Jorge: "Carlos's
younger brother; lead guitarist with Malo. Brought a burning, intense
guitar style to the young band. Also played and recorded with Fania
All-Stars. Released two solo albums plus Brothers album with Carlos
