Looking
for 90 minutes of good time rock 'n' roll? Look no further!
Our Master of Ceremonies drives this show up through the very
end, where we bring all the Artists back on stage for an encore.
The show starts with the comedians of rock with Cornell Gunter's
Coasters. They have the cure for Poison Ivy. They know the
right potion for love with their Love Potion #9. They do a
lot of Yakety Yak with Charlie Brown. It has been ten years
since Cornell passed away. Since that time, his sister Shirley
(who was an original member of The Platters and had been Cornell's
manager and creative force behind the group) incorporated
Cornell's genius into the group's ongoing homage, to not only
The Coaster's music, but to Cornell himself. The Coasters
were the first vocal group to be inducted into the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame on January 21, 1987.
Only
one microphone need be changed to bring on the marvelous Marvelettes.
This trio of ladies Don't Mess With Bill. When they do, they
call Beachwood 4-5789. At that number a Playboy answers. So
Please Mr. Postman tell me, are there Too Many Fish in the
Sea? Although The Marvelettes have not been inducted into
The Hall of Fame yet, they are the sixth most successful all
female recording act. They are one of only 21 acts in the
last 25 years whose first record sold over 1 million and went
number 1, of which only 2 of those acts were female ensembles.
We end the night with Linwood Peel's A Tribute To The Drifters whose modeled after mentors are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
They will transport your audience, from Under the Boardwalk
to On Broadway then take them Up on the Roof! This will truly
be This Magic Moment. So please, Save the Last Dance For Me!
Each ensemble brings their own blend of music together at
the very end, when our MC brings the other 2 bands on-stage
joining Linwood Peel's A Tribute To The Drifters in a star-studded encore with a tune
that everyone can help sing.
Everybody knows the tunes, everybody knows the words. This
show is for rock 'n' roll fans of all ages. Feel like dancin'?
You can do it to this show. Want to schedule a Meet & Greet
with photo opps after the show? No problem. Signing autographs.
Consider it done. Merchandise of T-shirts and/or CD's? Oh
yes!
As Linwood Peel's A Tribute To The Drifters may not be available for all dates, we
present to you The Platters. They were inducted into the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. These are not The Great Pretenders,
but the real thing. Singing, Only You, Smoke Gets In Your
Eyes and others. They can sing all these tunes and more, and
we fell they are a great ender to The Hall of Fame Show because
they have The Magic Touch! The other two bands will also join
The Platters up on stage for a gala encore.
This Show is presented with a live orchestra performing with
all three Artists, Linwood Peel's A Tribute To The Drifters (or The Platters);
The Cornell Gunter Coasters and The Marvelettes. This is the
original music presented in a way that gives each group a
modern theatrical approach to their own unique style and presentation.
