In
the book, Voices of Latin Rock: The People and Events that
Created This Sound, by Jim McCarthy great credit has been
given to Jorge Santana. This book was published at the end
of 2004 and on 1/2/05 Jorge sent a copy to Mark Sonder with
the inscription, "To Mark, Peace & Gratitude, your
friend Jorge Santana." McCarthy writes about Jorge: "Carlos's
younger brother; lead guitarist with Malo. Brought a burning,
intense guitar style to the young band. Also played and recorded
with Fania All-Stars. Released two solo albums plus Brothers
album with Carlos Santana and his nephew Roberto Hernandez."

MALO - a 10-piece group with a versatile sound - are the original
bad-boy Latin rockers. Like Carlos, they are from the Bay
Area and utilize a wide variety of influences in their music.
They have four gold records (their first album climbed to
#2 on the charts for the month of November 1972) and their
hits include "Nena" and the unforgettable "Suavecito".
Original
Latin hard rockers Malo reunited with their original leader
Jorge Santana. Malo's classic rock rhythms combined with Jorge's
fluent guitar work create a truly unique and always rockin'
sound.
