 Garfield
is shocked to discover that he has woken up the morning of
his birthday only to find out that Jon and Odie have completely
forgotten about his favorite holiday. Meanwhile, Jon and Odie
are hard at work planning the festivities of Garfield’s
surprise birthday party – to which the audience is invited.
Garfield conjures up a Fairy Catmother in his dreams and she
grants him his wish for a Personal Assistant (PA). Garfield
will stop at nothing to ensure that Jon realizes the importance
of this day. Unseen by Jon, Garfield’s Personal Assistant
wreaks havoc on the household. Garfield’s yearly visit
by Liz the veterinarian (whom Jon secretly adores) is another
source of exasperation for Garfield. After lamenting that
no one loves him he decides to take matters into his own hands
and plan his own party, which culminates in both surprise
parties colliding at the end of this zany cat-astrophe.
