HECATEST
This is a Frank Vagnozzi Music Foundation Benefit Show and
a Machete Attack Record Release Party. All proceeds go to
the Foundation.
August, 2005: The Frank Vagnozzi Recording studio, featuring
a 16 channel digital mixer, is up and running, under the guidance
of Brian Roberts. Brian is training Pete Watson and Bob Suren
to use the equipment and eventually they will become the chief
engineers.
The first recording session was in June when the Reckless
Deerhunters christened the
studio with three new songs. The initial recording session
was a learning experience for all involved. The three songs
came out a bit rough and it is not likely that they will ever
be officially released. As the studio's first guinea pigs,
the Deerhunters were not charged.
A second recording session in late July yielded 11 songs by
Machete Attack. These songs came out much better than the
Deerhunters session and four will appear on a 7" vinyl
record financed by the Frank Vagnozzi Music Foundation.
The record is expected to be released in mid-September. It
will be sold by the band
members and at the Sound Idea record store for $3 each. All
proceeds from the record
sales will go directly back to the FVMF to fund future projects.
June 4, 2005: The Frank Vagnozzi Recording Studio will
be up and tested for future recordings of musicians and bands.
May 21, 2005: About 50 people attended a FVMF benefit
concert on Saturday, two years and one day after Frank's death.
The concert was held at Sound Idea, a record store in Brandon,
Florida, where Frank played many shows with his band the Reckless
Deerhunters. The young music fans and friends of Frank donated
over $200 at the concert. Bands that played the event were
Race for Humanity, No Substance and John Madden & The
Electric Condoms.
May 20, 2005: Two year anniversary of the official passing
of Frank.
March 3, 2005: Frank would have been 41 years young today.
February 2005: The FVMF has decided to buy a 16 Track
Portable Recording Studio to be set up at Sound Idea for all
of the local/regional bands to use. The Foundation will be
charging a minimal amout per hour to use the studio equipment
with all of the proceeds going back to the Foundation. And
if the bands use any of the recordings, they will be required
to print and say that they were recorded at the Frank Vagnozzi
Recording Studio.
February 11, 2005: Danny Dabrowski is putting on another FVMF
Benefit show tonight, at the Pegasus Lounge. The bands
playing will be Big Fist, Vault Classic, Murder Suicide Pact,
Used Wisely, Dirty Sluts, and The Reckless Deerhunters.
June 25, 2004: Scott Watson has planned another benefit show
scheduled for The Pegasus, starring LGA, The Dirty Sluts,
Murder Suicide Pact, Johnny Zoom and, tentativly scheduled,
The Handshake Squad. The Handshake Squad is Joel Brown's
band. Frank use to play with Joel, Erron, and Greg Kazek,
in a Joel Brown band a few years back. Click

May 23, 2004: Frank & Dorothy Vagnozzi Memorial Scholarship,
award given by Frank's nephew Brandon, at Madonna High School
in Weirton, WV. The recipient was Ms. Megan Elizabeth
Gillespie. This award is based on student GPA, community work,
and her essay. Her major at Marshall University will be pre-law.
This award will be given on an annual basis at the commencement
of Madonna High School.
May 23, 2004: In honor of the 1-year passing of Frank there
was a benfit whow at The Brass Mug. All proceeds are going
to the Foundation. Robbie Freeman from "LGA"
scheduled the show and Danny from "The Dirty Sluts",
did about everything else. The bands that played were: LGA,
The Dirty Sluts, Random Fits, Jethro and the Bodines, Rubber
Soul, Big Fist, Reckless Deerhunters, and Zeb 40. DFC was
suppose to play but their guitar player had problems right
before they were suppose to go on.
